Company named top service provider
Lindsey Carroll is not a nerd but she’s virtually a one-stop assistant shop.
The Greenhithe resident’s company Outbox was named as virtual service provider of the year at the first ever Virtual Assistant Conference held in Wellington.
As a virtual professional she specialises in helping businesses create websites, newsletters, manage social media accounts and cloud-based applications.
“I’ve always been into computer things,” says the business woman who got to then showcase her achievements at the annual North Shore Business Women’s Expo at Takapuna Towers.
Having worked in the business industry before jumping into the online assistant world, Mrs Carroll says she is well-placed to help small businesses tackle new frontiers such as Twitter and Facebook.
Taking the stress off and helping people use social media are some of the best bits of her job, she says.
Websites are essential for businesses as people often use search engine Google to find services, she says.
Around 68 per cent of New Zealand companies have no website, she says.
Ms Carroll was especially pleased at the praise she received from John Palmer of an internationally renowned virtual professional business.
“For the New Zealand awards, the nominated candidates for this first year are of an extremely professional standard and certainly set a very high bar for the New Zealand award winners of the future,” Mr Palmer said.
