Festivity (Olivers Christmas Trees) has been selling Christmas trees in Auckland for many years. They wished to maintain the heritage of the business with a family-run feel but increase sales and reduce manual processes.

Their previous site was built on an older style table layout, was not responsive and did not have full e-commerce capabilities. The customer completed an enquiry form. An email was forwarded to the office and the order was processed manually, including raising an invoice for every sale.

The new shop area needed to alter in such a way that the client could book a delivery date and time and a pick up time as the trees can be recycled. The options of collection and payment by cash were required as this is often part of a family tradition when a customer takes the family to buy a tree.

Outbox had updated the previous site using FTP and Dreamweaver, but they knew it would eventually be ignored by Google and needed replacing.

All details were copied and updated from the old site and new photos provided. Outbox designed the layout and structure of the new website as well as adapting Woo-Commerce to suit the exact requirements. An overall of the wording was carried out, and a new blog added. Each product now has a picture which was absent on the previous website.

A Mailchimp signup form was added to encourage visitors to keep in touch so that they can be reminded each year when the trees are on sale again.

A countdown bar was added to help create urgency, and this proved a big hit with visitors.

Recommendations were added such as tree stands, that were the correct size for the tree the customer was purchasing.
